A collection of rarities, lost songs, unreleased gems and demos from the entirety of our career.

Between 2008 and 2012, Claw The Thin Ice served as the solo project of Ian D Breen. A handful of recordings were made and released via bandcamp, but as the project evolved and incorporated more people, the older recordings were shelved as the project embarked on a new era.

Lovesick & Supernatural collates highlights from the older recordings - "Sleep Is Not For Us" (2009), "Go Where Ghosts" (2011) and "Howling" (2012) along with lost songs written along the way, outtakes from studio sessions of later albums and a few covers from the archives. Everything has been re-mixed and in some cases revamped - given a cinematic sheen that I wanted them to have back in the day, but didn't have the resources to realise them.

There are also a couple of contributions of songs written by John, our long-standing multi-instrumentalist, who has played a huge part in Claw since the start. The demo of his song "Flake" is one we all fell in love with and decided to turn into an official song, as well as an outtake from the sessions for our 2015 album Exercise - "Canada" became part of our live sets for a while, and while we love the song, it didn't quite fit in to the track list.

Some of it is lo-fi - it's exactly what you would expect songs recorded on a shoestring budget in a bedroom over ten years ago would sound like. Back then, I embraced the distortion and lack of clarity, so we should embrace that now too.
